How to use factory recovery disc to restore XP system on ThinkPad

How to use the factory recovery disc to restore the ThinkPad XP system is as follows: (Applicable to X300 and other models)

NOTE: When using Product Recovery CD , all data and partitions on the hard drive are deleted. Before preparing to restore, please confirm that the data that needs to be saved in all partitions on the hard disk has been backed up. The final result will be only one C: partition containing the XP system and random TVT software.

In addition, if the machine is pre-installed with Vista system when you buy it, it is recommended to create a set of Think Vista pre-installed recovery discs before using the XP recovery disc that comes with it (to create a set Product Recovery CD, go to Start --> Programs --> ThinkVantage --> Create Product Recovery Media).

The first one: Rescue and Recovery Disc

The second one: Product Recovery Disc

1. Put the first CD into the optical drive and restart The computer will automatically boot into the interface (if it does not automatically boot from the CD, restart the computer and press F12 to select the CD-ROM drive to boot, and the system will boot into the RR system).

2. After entering the recovery interface, you will be prompted that by using this software, you agree to the terms of the license agreement, click Continue.

 3. Then click Complete Restore, and it will prompt you to save the files. If there are no files to be backed up in the hard disk at this time, click Continue.

4. The above is the backup location. The default selection below is to restore to factory state, click Restore.

5. Select Continue.

6. Prompt not to disconnect the power supply.

7. Click Next.

8. Accept the terms and conditions.

9. Click Next to start recovery.

10. Take out the CD, force shut down and then turn on the computer.

11. When prompted to put in the Product Recovery Supplemental Disc, select "No".

12.Prompt to insert Product Recovery Disc 1, insert the second disc, and click "Yes".

13. After restarting, you will be prompted to start recovery after 20 seconds. Do not click cancel or recovery will not continue.

14. When prompted whether to restart, click "Yes".

15. The recovery process takes about two hours. Please do not disconnect the power supply during the process and no operations are required. Eventually the system will automatically complete the recovery.

16. When the screen appears, WindowsXP has been installed. Please click Next to start the initial configuration. After the configuration is completed, you can use it normally.
